Did you know your dog has something called an Endocannabinoid System? That's a recently discovered internal system, kind of like the circulatory system or the nervous system, that regulates a huge number of things such as pain, hunger, mood, sleep, temperature and a wide range of other day-to-day functions. It has been shown to be out of balance in almost every disease or medical condition known to man.

Molecules called cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant are so close in structure to the ones made naturally in the body which activate the Endocannabinoid System that taking cannabis, for example ingesting CBD oil, actually mimics the effects. The Endocannabinoid System's main purpose is to create internal balance, scientifically known as the state of homeostasis, within the body. It does this by regulating pain, stimulating appetite, or readjusting the signals sent from the brain to the rest of the body to modify any of the many processes it controls to put things back in balance. This means the key to overall health of the Endocannabinoid System is cannabinoids and is why we strongly believe that cannabis is medicine.

Cannabis is being studied by scientists around the world to uncover all the conditions and associated symptoms that can be treated with this all-natural, extremely safe medicine. Cannabis is already being used to treat conditions such as​ Epilepsy, Arthritis, Chronic Pain, Gastrointestinal issues, Anxiety, Nausea and many other illnesses and ailments. Exciting work is currently being done in the field of cancer treatment as well. Studies show cannabis has the ability to slow tumor growth and even trigger "apoptosis" or cell suicide in cancer cells, while protecting healthy cells unlike traditional cancer treatments, such as chemo and radiation, which attack both cancer cells and normal healthy cells.

We want to help you get your dog's health back on track so you can spend your days making happy memories together. We do this by helping you properly dose your dog with cannabis oil to help treat their condition. We work with you one-on-one to create a diagnosis-specific custom dosing plan for your dog so you can treat them safely and effectively. We will recommend products that suit your dog's needs, give you a safe cannabis dosing schedule and walk you through what you can expect when treating your dog with cannabis. We want you to feel educated on what you are giving your dog, why you're giving it, and all the amazing things it can do.
HOW IT STARTED
The Healing Project is a husband and wife team from Southern California with a passion for healing.
Jesse and Isabel Ramirez' cannabis journey began in 2010 when Jesse's brother Claudio was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. They began the exhausting process of researching possible treatment options.
That's when they came across the studies showing cannabis as a viable treatment option for cancer. At the time however, cannabis was not nearly as readily available as it is today and even small doses were prohibitively expensive. Ultimately they were not able to acquire the amount recommended to put cancer in remission and unfortunately Jesse's brother passed away September 17, 2010 without having a chance to put the plant to work to help treat his cancer.

This made their mission clear; share the word about the healing properties of cannabis with the world. They didn't want anyone else to go through what they had when safe alternative options were out there. They continued their research into the plant and its many uses in medicine and gathered all the the knowledge they could through reading articles, reviewing studies and becoming certified through cannabis education courses.

They began sharing their knowledge of the plant's healing properties and creating cannabis protocols for individuals. In 2015 they were contacted by Tino Sanchez. Tino's beloved pit bull Shorty had been diagnosed with Lymphoma and was given 8 weeks to live. He wondered if cannabis might help save her life.
They got right to work.
Jesse developed a diagnosis-specific cannabis dosing protocol for Tino to administer to Shorty with and gave him product suggestions to treat her with. Shorty's cancer was put into remission and she went on to live another 5 years, eventually passing away from arthritis, with her final blood tests showing her levels as being the same as a dog who had never had cancer.
Tino, convinced of the healing magic of cannabis, shared the story with his following on his YouTube channel and Facebook Page, Peace Love & Pitbulls. Thus began The Healing Project's new mission, help people heal their dogs with properly dosed cannabis.
